Help - Documents - Menu |
The Document Information screen enables you to edit the document name (as it appears to the end users), the local path (for client-side document merge), the URL (for server-side document merge), a description and various other fields related to the management of a document.
From the Tasks & Fields screen, you can identify the tasks and fields which are required to build your document. After identifying these fields, the Edit Template function (below) will enable you to create or edit the document template using the fields you have chosen. Including a task adds all of the task's fields to the database, as well as the data and accounting information stored with the task.
This determines which tasks this document can be generated from. In addition, the document is available for generation from the File - Documents screen on if at least one associated task belongs to the file. For example, if a "Breach Letter" document is assoicated with a "Breach Expires" task, it will be available in the drop-down list of documents inside the "Breach Expires" task. Likewise, it will appear on the File - Documents screen if and only if it the file has a Breach Expires task associated with it.
This function opens the document template for editing, using the file number indicated in the field to the left of the menu as a sample file. Please note that this file number is the internal SQL file identification number, and not the number typically seen by users.
The function opens the document template and merges it with data from the file indicated in the field to the left of the menu. This is equivalent to an end user generating a document.
Exit returns you to the Document Search screen.
