Background

The Add a File screen includes a form for adding new files.  You must fill out some criteria before you can submit the form.  For example, if you do not choose a client before clicking Add, you will receive a popup message stating, "You must select a client before clicking Add."

When you click Add, the database will be checked for similar files.  If none are found, the file will be added.  If possible matches are found, you will be given the option to continue adding, or to open the possible matches.

Once the file has been added, you will be brought to one of two possible screens:

  • Add Another: returns to the Add a File screen so you can enter another new file.
  • Open File: open the file that was just added.

Matching Existing Files

Whenever you add a file, the database is checked to determine whether or not the file already exists.  A file is considered to already exist if any of the following criteria are already in the database:
  • Client loan number
  • Property address
  • Primary file party's social security number

If matches are found, they are displayed and available for opening.  You will then be able to choose to open a matching file, or continue adding the new file by clicking on "Add Anyway".

File Numbers

File numbers are assigned automatically by the system, according to the request made at installation.
